• RingSide
started serving steaks as a specialty and became known for
“serving the best steaks in town.” The name RingSide
was chosen because most of Portland’s major sporting events
were near or in the Civic Stadium…placing diners close to
ringside at these events.

1950’s
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
• Moving
to it’s present location on West Burnside, RingSide soon
was a Portland landmark…and, one of the favorite restaurants
in the growing Portland community.
• RingSide’s
onion rings were made world-famous by James Beard’s praise
for them as the…”best onion rings I’ve ever
had”.

Steaks and prime beef were the rage for diners. RingSide prospered
as one of Portland’s most popular restaurants.

second steakhouse was added: RingSide Steakhouse-Glendoveer on
the Glendoveer Golf Course on Portland’s eastside.

The third generation elected to build on the traditions of the
American steakhouse believing there is nothing more American than
a steakhouse!
